Yellow Rat Snakes

Pantherophis alleghaniensis

Yellow rat snakes are a naturally occurring color phase of Eastern rat snakes native to the coastal plain of the Southeastern US, reaching 4-6′ in length. Even within the color phase, they vary significantly in appearance across their range. We currently keep one yellow rat snake, Nera (2015 female), who originated in Hendry County, Florida.
