Russian Rat Snakes

Elaphe schrenckii

Russian rat snakes are native to Russia, China, Mongolia, and the Korean Peninsula, centered around the Amur River valley. They typically reach 4-6′ in length and are famous for their outgoing and docile demeanor. These snakes make incredible pets as long as the keeper can provide the seasonal cycling they require. We currently keep four Russian rats, Anapel (2015 female), Kuril (2016 male), Tanara (2020 female offspring of Kuril and Anapel), and Khovaki (2020 male).
