Japanese Rat Snakes

Elaphe climacophora

Japanese rat snakes are native to Japan and neighboring islands and usually grow to 4-6′. The Kunashir Island locality of this species stays slightly smaller and gradually turns a deep blue/green with age. They have wonderful and outgoing personalities that make them a ton of fun to keep. We currently have two Kunashir Island Japanese rat snakes, Jinx (2018 male) and Jazz (2019 female).
