Dumeril’s Boas

Acrantophis dumerili

Dumeril’s boas are native to Madagascar and have an average adult size range of 4.5-6.5′. They are heavy-bodied ambush predators and live a mostly terrestrial life, preferring to partially bury themselves in substrate and wait for prey to come within striking range. While they have a formidable feeding response, they are very docile when being handled. We currently keep one Dumeril’s boa, Mahaka (2017 female).
